What Do YOU Want?

Do you know what will make you happy today, and what will make you happy in the future?

Sometimes when we think about what we want, we really do not know.  Generally, we know what we do not want but looking into the future, what we want is vague. My belief is this happens because we have been taking care of others needs and we are thoughtful about their future, and truly not giving a lot of thought to our own.  It is time for you.

Below are some introspective questions to ask yourself. Write down your answers and if you do not have an immediate answer, think about it over the next few days or weeks, before completing those items.

Health

  • What are your eating habits?
  • What are you doing to stay healthy?
  • Are you getting enough sleep?
  • What is your optimum weight?
  • Are you engaged in your favorite recreational activity?

Relationships

  • Do you have a close family bond?
  • Do you have a best friend?
  • Do you have someone you can lean on in times of need?
  • Do you have someone to share your successes with?

Life

  • How could you have more fun in life?
  • What would make your life more pleasurable?
  • Are you making strides toward your goals?

Financial

  • What is your debt level?
  • What is your financial plan for the next year?
  • What is your financial plan for retirement?

 Career

  • Are you happy with your career or do you want more?
  • What would you rather be doing?
  • Are you open to new opportunities?

Personal Growth

  • What are you doing to promote your personal growth?
  • If you could learn anything, what would it be?
  • What would you like to know more about?

Life’s purpose

  • What is your life’s purpose?
  • Have you written your life’s purpose?
  • Does your life’s purpose bring you fulfillment?

Final questions

  • If you continue your current path, where will you be 5 years from now?
  • Where do you want to be headed?  Are you on course to get there?
  • Who can help you reach your dreams and goals?

Now that you have answered some of these questions, you may have opened new doors for needs and desires, along with ideas for goals.  Take action on what you have found out; do not let what you want fade away.  Keep coming back to your answers and read them regularly. Make a plan to work toward what you want.

Enjoy your journey!
